Stephen Dillane Compared G.O.T to What?
Team Diabolical is no stranger to a conspiracy or two, something about them immediately satiates our dark minds. In pondering the apparent quick demise of Stannis Baratheon this season, we couldn’t help but draw upon a rather intriguing interview actor Stephen Dillane gave in which he compared the nudity on Game of Thrones to that of 70’s German Porn. A very specific time and genre, but that aside, what got our curious minds racing is attempting to connect this interview with Dillane’s possible early exit from the show. Outside of Jon Snow, the tale of Stannis has been given a rather slow and intriguing build throughout the series’ run, so it was surprising that Baratheon’s story seemingly came to such a rapid and unsatisfying conclusion. Did Dillane’s eclectic porn reference seal the fate of Stannis Baratheon? We’ll probably never know, but the speculation is there and it certainly sparks some fun conversation.

George R.R. Martin
An icon known not only for his outspoken and, at times, seemingly defiant tone to fans- Martin’s defining saga Game of Thrones sits on the iron throne of our hearts. Once called “An American Tolkien,” Martin has fleshed out a fantasy world that will pull even casual fans into the fictional world of Westeros. Often sited for his bleak portrayal in his writing, fans of Martin often live on the darkside as well… no surprise he has Team Diabolical’s attention.

Jaws: 40th Anniversary – Jaws definitely hit me at a very influential time in my childhood and the imagery and score has stayed with me ever since. The film just celebrated it’s 40th anniversary and prompted me to pop in the Blu-ray to enjoy Spielberg’s terror of deep once again. The film definitely holds up and John Williams’ simple, yet brilliant score combines perfectly with the haunting, downright terrifying imagery of this great white shark. This film single handedly altered people’s perception of both Sharks and going to the beach for a casual swim. I’m not too proud to say that even today I’m just a bit apprehensive of climbing into a pool of water before scanning for that ominous dorsal fin. Jaws represents everything I love about cinema; great storytelling combined with perfect cinematography and score. The recipe of a classic, which Jaws clearly is. Happy 40th!
