Simpsons Treehouse of Horror

The Treehouse of Horror episodes of The Simpsons really took on a life of their own and became a classic Halloween tradition, particularly in the Diabolical Penthouse. The writers did a great job giving us some very inspired, fantastical stories and the marketing was beyond sublime. Both FOX and The Simpsons creative did a great job at making these episodes feel like a major event every year. It’s no secret that more than a few Treehouse of Horror moments rank among our very favorite in The Simpsons long and storied history.

Curtis and Ned Flanders

The Simpsons are never far from my mind, whether I’m referencing them in casual conversation or wondering how their creative team has basically predicted our future. Among the characters I know so well is Ned Flanders a God botherer that echoes many people from my conservative roots. Ned being a lefty always made me sympathize with his plight and convictions- he probably is the angel on most people’s shoulders if they grew up in Springfield. Cheers to the Neds out there.
