The Fappening (2014)
By now you’ve no doubt heard of The Fappening… maybe you’ve even looked at a few of the pictures. Certainly this event will long be remembered by the internet as a day when many glimpsed their favorite celebrities in very personal situations. For some it was like Christmas, for others it was nothing short of appalling. We’re not here to get into a moral debate over the subject, but it certainly promotes some stimulating conversation on digital privacy and the connections people seek to establish online. Check the links below for more on The Fappening.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)
Released in 1982, Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a favorite in the Diabolical Penthouse. It’s a film that speaks to young adults everywhere and is just as funny and relevant today as it was when it was first screened in theaters. We could go on about this film at length, but for our purposes in this session, we wanted to hone in Judge Reinhold’s self pleasuring scene… one that I”m sure most of us can relate to. Clearly, our favorite FAP scene in all of cinema! View it in the links below.
One Hour Photo (2002)
One of Robin Williams’ all time great performances. If you have yet to view this film, we highly recommend you go out of your way to check it out. If you are lucky to have access to the DVD, give a listen to the audio commentary- truly haunting stuff from Williams. Check the links below for more on this great film.
