The Thing (1982)
John Carpenter is certainly a favorite in the Diabolical Penthouse and there’s no doubt The Thing is one of our favorite films. Utilizing it’s environment in a most epic fashion, The Thing delivers on the thrills, chills and overall suspense we demand from our films. If you’ve yet to catch this film, do yourself a favor and set aside some time to give it a viewing. Check the links below for more.
Adrienne Barbeau made her mark in many of the cult classic films we’ve come to love from the 80’s. Probably her most well known role came in the film adaptation of Swamp Thing; but, of course, what caught our eye was her marriage to horror legend John Carpenter.
Friday the 13th (1980)
Just as Jaws created a fear of the ocean, Friday the 13th helped foster a fear of the woods. Playing quite nicely on the dark, spooky environment of the forest, Friday the 13th has become a classic for a reason- namely, it delivers on the creep factor. If you haven’t seen this film yet, well shame on you… do yourself a favor and watch the legend of Jason Voorhees get it’s start. Check the links below for more.
